The 365,000 square feet mixed-use office building, which includes a state-of-the-art workout area and 3,000 square feet of retail space, was developed by Trinity Capital Advisors of North Carolina. The building, which opened its doors in December 2009, features many sustainable features, which include low VOC emitting carpets and paints, FSC Certified wood-based building materials, and recycled content in building materials. In addition, over 23,000 tons of on-site demolition construction waste was diverted from landfills.

Dagmar Epsten, founder and president of the Epsten Group, was reported stating that they also created tenant guidelines to optimize the building’s efficiency as occupants move in. she adds that the guidelines are supported by electrical meters on each floor of the building that allow businesses to track their energy usage.

The building is located in Charlotte’s Third Ward, which have easy access to bus and rail lines, thereby saving transportation energy and encouraging commuting alternatives to automobile use.
