Aegean Yacht launches Montigne superyacht
Published: 08-Sep-2009
Turkish yacht builder Aegean Yacht has introduced its flagship, 173 feet schooner, Montigne, built over a period of two years with consultation from international teams like Shipyard and Owner’s Team.
Built to RINA and MCA specifications, the yacht emerges as a large boat in this category. The Motigme provides complete comfort to its users, both on the inside and the outside, with 110 square meters of space for all kinds of activities, ranging from al fresco dining to lounging.
The sundeck also features a large Jacuzzi, while the foredeck features an array of water toys for guests. The dining table with comfortable chairs integrated in the aft deck also features a turntable and is capable of seating 12 guests. It has been designed and manufactured by the full-service shipyard, Aegean Yacht.
The deck also features a ‘wet-feet’ service bar and a fully equipped original Teppanyaki grill. About 40 square meters of the deck space is covered with cushions, while the entire aft deck is covered by a hard Bimini top integrated with lighting, speakers, and a water mist air-cooling system.
The sundeck offers 135 square meters of high quality teak decking and is connected to the main deck via stairs. The large mast, boom and rigging provide for a lot of space for guests to hang out. Montigne features a golden dragon placed on the bow and two brightly colored dragons on the transom, symbolizing the power of the yacht and is believed to protect it from evil spirits.
A massive sculpture of the legendary Dragon Boat accentuates the entrance of the main deck. The artwork is made from a single piece of wood and is decorated with fancy carving. The 80 square meter salon also features a rectangular dining table, a piano, and two separate seating spaces for guests. The interiors consist of six staterooms furnished in cherry wood, featuring en-suite bathrooms, finished in inlaid marble.
The staterooms are located below the deck, while the 60 square meter master suite and the VIP cabin is located on the aft. An originally shaped double guest stateroom of 35 square meters, and two more double and two triple cabins of 20 square meters each, can be found forward to the deck.
The master suite that occupies the full beam is provided with a section equipped with special SPA facilities. A sitting area and a study, and a luxurious en-suite bathroom with a bath and marble shower complete the suite.
Twin 760 horse power MAN engines power the boat and offer a range of 1,800 nautical miles and 12 knots top speed. Three aluminum masts carry a sail area (UK SAILS) of 800 square meters.
Sails featured on the Montigne apart from the mizzen are roller furling, while two lightweight Fisherman sails are also provided with a total area of 250 square meters.
