Alfred Bernardin opens Belmont restaurant in Paris

Published: 07-Jan-2013

French restaurateur Alfred Bernardin has opened his newly designed restaurant named Belmont at Sentier district in Paris which combines different styles and materials for a unique decor.

Spread over 250 square metres, the Belmont restaurant features an array of vintage pieces, which has lent it a unique feel. To create this look, the designer has used a mix of styles and materials.

The furniture in the restaurant also reflects the mix and match decor. Chairs from the 1950s, 60s and 70s sit side-by-side with contemporary designer-style pieces. All the pieces have been carefully set out to leave an impression of orderly disarray.

Decorated with traditional interior designing materials, Belmont also has a modern twist. Zinc blends harmoniously with the warmth of dark aged beech flooring. The material of a leather table also blends well with the Chesterfield sofa.

The decor plays on the restaurant's geometry, blending round, square and oval shapes beneath an Eiffel-style structure, with a six-metre high ceiling.
