Blackfly Canoes' designs new boat

US-based Blackfly Canoes' first production model is a winning freestyle open boat design, which has been designed specifically for international freestyle competition by 2009 World Freestyle OC1 Champion Jeremy Laucks.

The Blackfly targets serious freestyle open boaters and is one of the first production boats to be designed to meet the new International Canoe Federation (ICF) regulations for OC1.
Its equipment includes a full length foam saddle and bulkhead, adjustable foot-pegs, ash thwarts and Gaia Standard float-bags. The Blackfly is currently available in rotomolded plastic, and a composite version of the same would be launched soon.
The Blackfly is currently only available directly from Blackfly Canoes at $1349. It dimensions measure 197cm in length, width 76cm, and 40.6cm in depth. The boat weighs 20kg and is available in mango color.
