Canary Wharf office building installs Assa Abloy security doors
Published: 20-Feb-2013
25 Churchill Place office building in Canary Wharf, which is one of London’s most iconic business districts, is incorporating over 700 steel doorsets from the Swedish lock manufacturer, Assa Abloy Security Doors.
ASSA ABLOY Security Doors has designed, manufactured and installed the steel doors for the 23-storey office building at 25 Churchill Place.
The heavy-duty Assa Abloy security doors are fire-rated, acoustic and blast-rated doors, with electrohydraulic door operators to tackle the heavy traffic of the prime offices in London. In view of the fire safety requirements, which is essential for commercial environments, roller-shutter doors have also been installed to provide additional security.
Assa Abloy also provided bespoke steel doors with a flush astragal profile on all main access routes. Less vulnerable to attack, the flush astragal doors claim to provide the building efficiency and safety, by restricting the passage of heat and smoke between building areas.
Designed to withstand abuse from simple hand tools through to prolonged attacks with a range of power tools, ASSA ABLOY security doors are tested in accordance with the standards of LPS1175, and fire doors to BS 476 Part 22 and EN 1634-1: 2000.
Canary Wharf is a 15 million square feet prime office, retail and leisure space in London.
