Conservancy of Southwest Florida's maintenance building wins LEED Gold

Published: 07-Mar-2012

Conservancy of Southwest Florida's maintenance building on the Conservancy campus in Naples, Florida, has bagged LEED Gold certification from the US Green Building Council.

The building has been completed in March 2011 and spans over an area of 2400 square feet. Among its various features are a specialized work zone, storage, office areas, as well as restrooms.

The maintenance facility imbibes a host of eco-friendly elements. These include incorporation of daylight harvesting measures. This helps in cutting down dependency on artificial lighting and in turn, reaps energy cost cuts. The building also offers fresh-air ventilation.

The building has been equipped with high-performance geothermal cooling systems which further contribute to its sustainability. In addition, the materials used during its construction process have been procured through local sources.
