Construction underway for Hampden Park extension in Glasgow

Published: 12-Mar-2013

Construction is underway for an extension to the North Stand at Hampden Park in Glasgow, Scotland which is designed by Holmes Miller.

Extending the North Stand at Hampden Park for Hampden Park Ltd, the works will create a new public face and identity for the northern side of the stadium. Uplifting the spectator comfort during the period of the Commonwealth Games, the construction work will provide the extended North Stand concourse.

The first floor extension will create new wheelchair accessible facilities including lifts, toilets and catering outlets. Apart from that it will also provide additional spectator concourse area, catering kiosks, and toilets.

These works are an essential element of the Glasgow 2014 Hampden Campus which will allow the stadium to host the track and field athletics events and the closing ceremony of the XX Commonwealth Games in 2014.

The project is scheduled to be completed by the William Hill Scottish Cup Final in May 2013, and is being built by ISG.
