Falls and Lake View II office buildings win LEED Gold certification

The Falls and Lake View II office buildings at Sanctuary Park in Alpharetta, Georgia, have secured LEED Gold certification from the US Green Building Council.

The Falls and Lake View II structures at the 150-acre Park site span 228,629 square feet and 181,089 square feet respectively. Both the buildings incorporate various green features. They are fitted with low-flow water and hands-free water fixtures. All these methods contribute to reduce water wastage by 10%. The buildings also make use of the on-site lake formed by collecting storm-water to meet irrigation purposes and phase out potable water requirements.

Expansive areas of the facilities are maintained in a natural state or with native landscaping which adds to their sustainability. The buildings also utilise effective green-cleaning methods while abiding by green exterior management and purchasing processes. Further, it also offers a comprehensive tenant education programme on LEED certification and eco-friendly measures.

The Falls office building reclaims 71% of the waste stream such as paper, plastic, glass, aluminum and other consumable items, in addition to fluorescent light bulbs, batteries and products used during the construction process. The Lake View II facility has reused 58% of the waste stream as part of its green initiative.
