Goat Hollow restaurant re-opens in Mt. Airy
The Goat Hollow restaurant in Mt. Airy, US has re-opened after a year-long renovation project.
Located at 300 W. Mt. Pleasant Ave., the restaurant reopened on 21 January 2013 since the property closed in 2004. The restaurant’s namesake Goat Hollow Tavern references the historic name of a section of Mt. Airy, where it is rumoured that a goat path once ran out front near the buildings.
The 100-seat restaurant has received a complete make-over led by local businesses, including Metcalfe Architecture and Design, Fillippi Bros., Inc., and Philadelphia Salvage and Design Nehez which redesigned and created custom pieces for the restaurant. The building's original stone exterior has been restored and enhanced with reclaimed lumber.
Renovations to the space included opening up the main bar room and installing several reclaimed products and furniture. The space features various table tops created out of reclaimed wood from a factory in Germantown by Mt. Airy artisan Chris Stock, and benches made of pews from a church in Germantown.
The second floor of the restaurant offers additional seating as well as an intimate space for hosting private parties. An outdoor terrace space is also expected to open later.
Goat Hollow restaurant will be open seven days a week serving lunch, dinner, late-night menus and weekend brunch.
