Halton Haven Hospice in UK breaks ground for expansion project
Published: 25-Aug-2010
Halton Haven Hospice in Warrington, UK, has broken ground for a £300,000 ($466,368) renovation and development scheme led by the UK-based community regeneration specialist Bramall Construction.
The official sod cutting ceremony was held on 22 August 2010. The expansion scheme encompasses building a small extension, a new conservatory area for patients and the refurbishment of patient rooms. These improvements are designed to offer more space and a better environment to the patients. The hospice will receive a modernised look and feel and will feature a welcoming environment.
The Halton Housing Trust, a not-for-profit housing association, and Bramall Construction have offered free consultation and design services ahead of the development. Halton Housing Trust selected the Hospice as one of its nominated charities for 2010. The expansion project is funded by a Department of Health Grant.
Bramall Construction, which forms part of the Keepmoat group of companies, has worked on a number of developments across the borough. It includes the trust’s £85 million ($132 million) investment programme to fit thousands of new kitchens, bathrooms and windows in its properties.
