Hugh and River Cottage Canteen by Simple Simon Design

Published: 15-Feb-2013

Simple Simon Design has designed the new Hugh and River Cottage Canteen in Bristol, UK which will open in late February 2013.

The new restaurant is based in the Grade II-listed St John's Court Hall in Bristol, which has been carefully restored by Simple Simon Design. The 4000-square foot eatery would be celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s fourth restaurant.

The design has retained few elements of the historic building such as fantastic timber framed ceiling and the 15ft high leaded windows, which were restored to their original glory.

All the elements incorporated in the interior design of Hugh and River Cottage Canteen has been sourced locally. The fixed seating was made by Russell Strange Upholstery from Bristol, signs are by Blood Sweat and Tears, also from Bristol and the lighting came from Bristol firm Lighting Services. All the fixtures and fittings are made from recycled materials wherever possible.

Located on Whiteladies Road in Bristol, the restaurant aims to source all materials and produce as locally as possible.
