Kansas' West Stadium Centre plans unveiled

Published: 10-Jan-2012

Plans for the new $75 million West Stadium Centre of the Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Kansas, US have been unveiled.

Construction of the centre forms part of the second phase of the football stadium masterplan. The new facility, spanning 250,000 square feet, will be built in lime stone and will substitute the current press box encompassing five floors. It has been designed by AE Com, in association with Heery Design. Among its various features are suites and a new working press space, new concession amenities, restrooms, club-level seating arrangements, as well as an expanded ticket office.

About one-third of the project money has already been raised by Kansas State with construction slated to start prior to the 2012 season.

Phase I of the masterplan included incorporation of new turf and creation of restrooms on the east side upper concourse. The future phases will lead to creation of a new strength and conditioning centre, an entertainment pavilion, and additional seating facilities.
