Kebony to exhibit sustainable wood product at Ecobuild 2011

Kebony has developed an environmentally-friendly patented modification method, which will provide maple, pine and beech the same aesthetical and physical properties as rainforest wood. The new technology is claimed as a cost effective, sustainable and independently verified alternative to depleting hardwoods.
In the process, the wood is impregnated with a patented mixture based on furfuryl alcohol, a liquid produced from agricultural crop waste, which then reacts within the wood fibres. The process strengthens and increases the durability of the wood making it more durable against biological decay.
Kebony’s wood products can be used for decking, cladding, roofing, windows, indoor and outdoor furniture, yacht decking and other construction materials. TRADA recently awarded Kebony a ‘Highly Commended’ for its demonstration of “steadfastness and ingenuity in pursuing their objectives, to push forward the boundaries of what can be achieved using timber and wood products”.
Kebony will exhibit on stand TW11 at Ecobuild 2011.
