Morgan Sindall to build cattle market at Bryngwyn

Published: 19-Feb-2013

UK-based construction company Morgan Sindall Group Plc has secured a contract from Monmouthshire County Council to build a new cattle market at Bryngwyn, near Raglan, which is estimated to cost £5 million ($7.75 million).

Sprawling over a 27-acre site at Bryngwyn, the new cattle market will be of a steel frame with timber-cladding. It will accommodate a building including a lorry and car park, offices and a café.

The new cattle market will hold 300 sheep pens and 150 cattle pens. It will serve the Monmouthshire farming community and provide the local farming community with modern livestock market facilities.

The company anticipates transferring the facilities of the existing Abergavenny livestock market to the new facility in the third quarter of 2013, after which, the former facility will be closed. The construction of the new facility is scheduled for completion in mid-2013.
