Motel 6 in Flagstaff, Arizona integrated with ‘Phoenix’ design elements
Published: 26-Aug-2010
Motel 6, a US-based economy lodging chain, has completed renovation of its property in Flagstaff, Arizona, integrating it with the elements of new ‘Phoenix’ prototype design.
The Phoenix design elements include modernized interior, sleek European boutique-style guestroom, wood-effect laminate flooring, 32-inch flat-screen TVs and granite bathroom countertops.
The renovated guest rooms of the Motel 6 property in Flagstaff feature bright accent colours, ambient lighting, and a pedestal bed that complements the room’s sleek design. Multi-media panel with A/V plug-ins for mp3 players, video game systems and laptop computers; Wi-Fi Internet access; and a settee/banquette area for two are some other state-of-the-art amenities in the guestrooms.
Incorporation of eco-friendly features makes the Phoenix design more efficient and sustainable. The motel utilizes Motel 6’s current energy management practices including the disposal of hazardous waste with a Fluorescent Light Bulb and Battery Recycling Program. Installation of low-flow aerators for faucets and shower heads and 1.1 gallon low-flow toilets helps in reducing water consumption. The motel features wood-effect laminate flooring, which is made of 80% pre-consumer recycled material.
Motel 6, owned and operated by global hotel giant Accor Hotels, is currently undertaking renovation of its select properties with elements of the new prototype. Motel 6 has more than 1,000 locations in the US and Canada, and is the largest owned and operated hotel chain in North America.
