The former Ocean building has undergone a facelift to be transformed into the new facility. The new building spans over an area of 4000 square metres and accommodates four cinema screens, a spacious café, bars as well as several amenities to serve community based organisations.
The auditoria of the revamped building incorporates comfortable seating arrangements while being equipped with digital, 3D and satellite technology. The facade of the remodelled building is made of sandstone with its dome wrapped in copper. A bold graphic style serves as a dominant design element in the interior areas of the renovated facility.
The side balconies of the former facility have been phased out to make room for a massive screen in the former main concert area. Further, the acoustic panels in the cinemas and bar sections have received an overhaul. The panels have also been recycled with a few of them being transferred to Brixton's Ritzy Picturehouse. The frosted glazed panels, formerly acting as projection screens in the bar window front have been shifted to the art gallery area and now perform the function of a light box wall illuminated from the back.
