Northrop Grumman new corporate office receives LEED Gold

The new corporate office building of Northrop Grumman Corporation in Virginia, US has bagged LEED Gold from the US Green Building Council.

The facility incorporates a host of green features such as high-performance cooling and heating systems which reap energy cost cuts of 30%. It has also been equipped with advanced lighting controls as well as water-efficient plumbing systems.

The building makes use of eco-friendly furnishings along with low VOC paints, sealants, carpeting and adhesives to improve the quality of its indoor air. The materials used during the construction process of the building are reclaimed and procured via local sources. In addition, the facility employs best operational practices for water consumption and solid waste management which add to its sustainability.
