Published: 21-Mar-2011
Renaissance Sanya Resort & Spa, part of the Renaissance Hotels brand of Marriott International, has been unveiled in the luxury resort area of Haitang Bay, China’s recently declared National Coast.
Designed by WATG, the 507-room hotel has been developed by the Sanya Zhonggang Fishery. The resort-hotel's lobby features contemporary elements of Oriental design including 14 meter-high ceilings offering panoramic views of the South China Sea.
The hotel’s guest rooms span 58 square meters including a six-meter balcony. Some guest rooms have a direct access to the hotel’s lagoon pool. The hotel also features 97 suites and 10 private two-bedroom villas with a personal pool. All guest rooms are equipped with wireless and High-Speed Internet Access (HSIA), iPod docking stations, and flat screen TV’s. The resort’s presidential suite has a total area of 1,000 square meters, with four bedrooms, two swimming pools, and a private dining room for 12 that can be accessed by a private elevator.
The beach-resort offers 2,500 square meters of banquet space, including a 1,430 square meters ballroom, along with a junior ballroom and four additional meeting rooms. It also offers seven food and beverage outlets linked by a theme of stars. Star Anise is designed as a Chinese dining facility with 14 private dining rooms, including six on ‘floating islands’. Red Star Cafe is a 320-seat, three-meal restaurant, anchored by floating red glass box kitchens, each one specialising in a different Chinese cooking technique. The Star fish Market & Bar is designed as a casual dinning facility allowing guests to choose meat, fish and locally sourced vegetables, cooked to order.
The resort also features a 10-pin bowling alley, private cinema and individual Wii, Xbox and PlayStation zones. 'R-Kids' is Renaissance styled kids club offering eight designer styled zones of entertainment. The hotel also offers a Quan spa with individual treatment villas, as well as a fully equipped fitness center.
