Renovation of Rick Husband International Airport underway

Published: 09-Feb-2010

The $48 million renovations and construction works at the Rick Husband International Airport in the US is in progress.

Renovations and construction include a new consolidated concourse, a more spacious security checkpoint, more food, beverage and retail vendors, and a new air cargo facility. A line baggage system and a new meet and greet area is also being constructed. The line baggage system means less bag searches. The new meet and greet area will serve people waiting for the arriving flights, or those saying good bye to those who are going to catch a flight.

The entire project is around 40% complete and the new air cargo facility is around 95% completed. Progress on the new consolidated concourse is near completion. It will be connected to the existing terminal in March 2010.
