Stade Makis rugby stadium unveiled in Madagascar
A new rugby stadium, named as Stade Makis, which was unveiled in Madagascar in 2012, is designed to boost the game in the region.
Located at the western side of the capital Antananarivo on a four-hectare plot, the new stadium can accommodate 15,000 fans and host various athletics and other sporting competitions. The stadium provides a driving range parking which can accommodate nearly 150 cars, and gyms and locker rooms with international standards.
Said to be one-of-its-kind in Madagascar, the new stadium also features a new gym and a training pitch. The new stadium will also host the new offices of the Madagascar Union.
Stade Makis stadium has already been branded locally as the "Temple of Rugby". Built by the French company Colas, the stadium was unveiled on 15 December 2012, reports Africa Review.
