Turkish designer team wins Green Dot awards

The Green Dot Awards, also called the ‘Green Oscars’, were given to Hakan Gursu and his team who designed a boat named ‘The Volitan’. This boat is equipped with solar cell panels which used both wind and solar energy.
Hakan Gursu, a professor from the Middle East Technical University, and his team were also awarded the first place for their Decobrick building design in the build category of the design competition. The team also won an award for another project called the natura wall, a green innovative natural wall project.
The Green Dot Awards promote forward-thinking businesses that create environmentally sustainable products or services and to reward revolutionary green business plans and proposals.
